How to Replace an Onzen Electrode
Arctic Spas presents – How to replace your Onzen Electrode
This is Christian with Arctic Spas and today I’m going to tell you how to replace your Onzen Electrode. We recommend that you do this once a year to make sure that you produce the sanitizer from your salt water system. So the first thing that you’re going to want to do is flip the breaker off and then once the power is cut, then we’ll come back and you unthread the electrode and the housing completely out of the tub. Pull it up and out of the water if your tub has water in it.
You want to make sure that you keep the housing completely dry. There’s one set screw that you can undo with just a regular Phillips screwdriver. Once your set screw is completely loose, then you’ll twist out the old electrode and pull it completely out, and remember, this is what you need to keep completely dry. You’ll take your new electrode and thread it into place. Make sure that you hit the stop there, because that’s where the set screw can feed into its position on the inside and then just simply tighten up the set screw.
Once that set screw is in place, you’ll want to feed the cord back into the niche that’s inside the tub and simply just thread the whole assembly back in. Once you’re done with that, fill the tub and turn the power back on. That’s all you have to do. We recommend that you do this once a year.
