Winter is coming—guess it’s time to close down the hot tub for the season.
Wait! Stop! Don’t touch that tub!
Winter is one of the absolute best times of year to use your spa; there’s no reason to close down your spa. In fact, it’s one of the best ways to keep warm while enjoying the great outdoors. What better way to watch the snow fall than from the warm waters of a cozy hot tub or swim spa?
Well, I only use my spa for entertaining, and barbecue season is long over…
Who says you can’t entertain in the winter months? In fact, owning a spa is one of the only ways to hold an outdoor party in the winter. Your guests won’t care that it’s four degrees outside when they’re neck-deep in 104-degree water.
Stop prematurely draining those spas and get a little creative with your winter entertaining this year. Here are three different ways to make the most of spa entertaining during the winter months.
Romantic Snowy Evening for Two
Reenact “Baby, It’s Cold Outside” by cooking up a little romance of your own on a snowy evening. Start with a slow-roasted home-cooked meal, served over candlelight (don’t forget homemade dessert!). Then cozy up together in the hot tub and enjoy your own winter wonderland under the stars. End your snowy romantic evening with a glass of wine in front of the fireplace.
Embrace being snowed in with the one you love. No shoveling the walk, no braving winter roads—you’ll have a five-star date night without ever having to leave the house.
Girl’s Night In
Little black dresses don’t fare too well when the temperatures drop below 30 degrees. Forgo the heels without forgoing the cocktails by having a girl’s night in—it’s time for a ladies-only spa party. Instruct everyone to pack swimsuits along with their warmest pajamas and gossip the night away in the spa. When it’s time to get out, dry off and cozy up in those pajamas—it’s time for a night of chick flicks, sleepover-style.
Family Spa Time in the Snow
Who says hot tubs or swim spas are just for grown-ups? After a long day of sledding, snowball fights and snowmen-making, nothing warms up cold noses and toes like a dip in the family spa. Surprise your family by bringing out a tray stacked with heaping hot chocolate mugs—don’t forget the whipped cream and marshmallows!
There’s no need to risk frostbite in order to enjoy your own private winter wonderland. Everything else may be frozen, but you’ll stay toasty warm in the hot tub while enjoying the new fallen snow with the ones you love.
