Hot Tub Cleaning

Cleaning a hot tub is not a difficult task, but a regular cleaning schedule is vital to preserving the integrity of your spa. Detergent residues and dissolved solids from bathing suits and chemicals will gradually accumulate in a spa’s water, but showering without using soap prior to entering the spa or using only the rinse cycle when laundering your bathing suit will help to reduce residue in the spa water. Stains and dirt generally will not adhere to your spa’s surface, and a soft cloth or sponge will easily remove most dirt. Household chemicals are harmful to a spa shell, so sodium bicarbonate (baking soda) or vinegar can also be used for minor surface cleaning. Always thoroughly rinse off any spa shell cleaning agent with fresh water. Baking soda is also recommended for cover cleaning, and cabinets can be regularly wiped down and re-stained with Olympic Maximum Wood Stain.
